JALIL BREWER NAMED BIG TEN MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Junior Jalil Brewer was named the Big Ten Men's Field Athlete of the Week on April 7. The honor comes after he won the shot put at the Big Ten North Florida Hawkeye Invitational on April 2 with a mark of 19.70 meters. It was his second win in as many weeks to begin the outdoor campaign. Brewer's throw is the best in the Big Ten and sixth-best in the nation.

As he earned his first career Big Ten Outdoor Field Athlete of the Week accolade, Brewer is the first Boilermaker recognized with the honor since Ashmon Lucas in 2018.

In the latest USTFCCCA national rankings, the Boilermaker men and women are both No. 4 in the Great Lakes Region. In the Event Squad Rankings, the men are No. 3 nationally in the 100 and No. 5 in the 200.

Harris led the way with a win in the open discus, as her throw of 54.11 meters placed her second in the school record books.

Brewer won the shot put with a throw of 19.70 meters, which would be No. 4 all-time if he wasn't already third.
