The Boilermakers (1-3-0) play their third match indoors, and second off-campus road contest, in the team's first five games to open the 2020-21 campaign. The Badgers (3-1-0) come into the match having won two in a row.

Purdue is second in the Big Ten in total assists, with five, and third in shots (13.25), corner kicks (4.50) and assists (1.25) per match. The Boilermakers also are No. 4 in the league in points (3.25) and goals (1.00) per match and total points (13) and goals (4).

Griffith paces the squad with two goals, four points, 19 shots and seven shots on goal. Freshman forward Nicole Kevdzija is second with three points, one goal, one assist, eight shots and three shots on goal, and Mathews has a team-leading two assists. SERIES HISTORY VS. WISCONSIN
Following a split last season, including the Big Ten Tournament upset victory, Purdue is 9-12-3 all-time against Wisconsin. The two teams have met twice before outside of West Lafayette or Madison, both in conference tournament play, with a 2-2 draw in 2000 in Champaign, Illinois, and a 3-0 loss in 2005 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

The then-No. 13-ranked Badgers won last season's regular-season matchup, 1-0 at Folk Field on Oct. 6, 2019. Leanna Rebimbas had three shots to lead the Boilermakers, and Bova made four saves. In the Big Ten Tournament quarterfinals, Purdue earned a 1-0 upset victory on Nov. 3 in Madison. Ena Sabanagic scored the match-winner at 44:02, with current Boilermakers Ally Mussallem and Skylurr Patrick earning assists. Bova stopped all six shots she faced as UW out-shot Purdue 16-5 and had a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal.

SCOUTING THE BADGERS
The reigning Big Ten regular-season champions, Wisconsin is 3-1-0 on the season, with three 1-0 wins. UW is coming off a 1-0 shutout victory over Illinois on March 4. The Badgers have scored one goal in all four of their contests. In 2019, Wisconsin was 16-4-2 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16.

The Badgers lead the Big Ten in shutout percentage, at 75.0%, and are third in total assists, with four. UW is fourth in the league in assists per match (1.00), goals per match (1.00), total goals (4) and goals-against average (.750). UP NEXT: VS. NORTHWESTERN
Purdue returns home for a three-match homestand beginning on Saturday, March 13, against Northwestern. Kickoff against the Wildcats is set for 1 p.m. ET at Folk Field.

LAST TIME OUT: AT NEBRASKA
Griffith scored her second goal of the season, but it was not enough in a 2-1 loss at Nebraska on March 4. The Boilermakers fell behind 1-0 in the 12th minute and 2-0 in the 59th before Griffith cut the deficit in half in the 68th minute. Junior midfielder Grace Walsh and Mathews earned assists.

The Boilermakers had 10 shots to Nebraska's 11, while the home side had a 6-3 advantage in shots on goal. Seven of Purdue's 10 shots came in the second half and four of its five corner kicks occurred in the final 45 minutes. Griffith led the squad with four shots and Kevdzija had three shots and senior defender Maya Lambert had two. Griffith, Kevdzija and Lambert each had a shot on goal in the contest. Bova made four saves.

KEVDZIJA NAMED BIG TEN FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK
After a three-point match, including scoring the match-winning goal in overtime, Kevdzija was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week on March 2. Kevdzija scored the winning goal at 1:54 in the second overtime and assisted on Purdue's opening goal, 30 seconds into the match, to propel the Boilermakers to a thrilling 3-2 victory over Maryland on Feb. 25. The goal and assist were both the first of Kevdzija's collegiate career as she played in her second match.

The match-winning goal came at 101:54. On the run, she received a long ball from Bova. The forward beat the Maryland defense and touched it past the keeper, who was out of her net. With her left foot, Kevdzija buried her first as a Boilermaker.

Thirty seconds into the match, she assisted on the second-earliest goal in program history, when she sent a ball in to Griffith, who scored her first of the year.

In three matches in 2020-21, Kevdzija leads the team with three points and is second with five shots and two shots on goal. She is one of three Boilermakers with a goal and one of three with an assist.

A LOOK BACK AT A TWO-OT THRILLER
Purdue took a 1-0 lead 30 seconds into the match and tied it at 2-2 at 89:59 to force overtime before scoring the match-winning goal in the second overtime in an exciting 3-2 victory over Maryland on Feb. 25.

Griffith scored the second-earliest goal in team history at 0:30, but Maryland evened the match at 1-1 in the 19th minute and took a 2-1 lead in the 81st. However, sophomore defender Chloe Woodbeck headed in the match-tying goal with one second left in regulation to send it to overtime. In the 102nd minute, Kevdzija scored her first collegiate goal to win it for the Boilermakers.
