Horvath followed up his 100-yard receiving game against Northwestern with 118 all-purpose yards (68 rushing and 50 receiving) at Minnesota and 162 all-purpose yards (101 rushing, 61 receiving) vs. Rutgers.
Grinding It Out on the Ground
Zander Horvath's three games with over 100 yards rushing (129 vs. Iowa, 102 at Illinois and 101 vs. Rutgers) are the most by a Purdue running back in the same season since D.J. Knox equaled that number in 2018 (152 vs. Eastern Michigan, 150 at Illinois and 128 vs. Ohio State). The last Boilermaker to rush for over 100 yards four times in the same year was Jerod Void in 2005 (101 vs. Akron, 107 at Arizona, 134 vs. Michigan State and 102 vs. Illinois). Bell is the only player in school history to record five consecutive games with 100 or more yards receiving. The previous Purdue record of four straight was shared by Rodney Carter (1985) and Keith Smith (2009). He has broken the century mark in receiving yards nine times in 16 career games at Purdue.
