WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue women's tennis team inked a pair of future Boilermakers to National Letters of Intent, head coach Laura Glitz announced today. Jamilah Snells and Tara Milič elected to continue their athletic and academic careers as Boilermakers.

"We're thrilled to have Jamilah and Tara join our program," Glitz said. "These young women are very athletic and tall. The enjoyed a lot of success and bring a lot of experience to West Lafayette. I believe they have a lot of potential to make an impact on our program. We cannot wait to get them on campus to start working with them."

Snells, a native of Miramar, Fla., was a blue-chip and five-star recruit through the Tennis Recruiting Network, rising as high as No. 31 in the nation during her prep career. She posted a 208-130 record within USTA Juniors reaching No. 18 in the national rankings and No. 7 in the state of Florida.

On the professional circuit, Snells reached No. 1,026 in singles and No. 1,291 in doubles in the world rankings. She reached the second round of singles at the W25 Petit-Bourg in Guadeloupe and the doubles finals of the W15 Fort-de-France in Martinique and the quarterfinals of the W15 in Shreveport, La.

Her junior career accomplishments also include the Junior ITF Grade 4 Doubles Title at the Trinidad Trinity Cup, the singles Silver Ball and Bronze Ball at the USTA Girls 18-Under National Clay Court Championships in 2018 and 2016, respectively, the doubles Gold Ball at the 2014 USTA National Hard Court Championships. She also was a singles finalist for the Florida State Championship, a three-time 18-under Florida section doubles champion and a two-time sectional doubles finalist.

Milič joins the Boilermakers after an impressive junior career as one of the top players in her native Slovenia. She reached six singles quarterfinals and six doubles semifinals on the ITF Juniors Tour, which led to a career-high ranking of 829 earlier this year.

Paired with her sister, Milič won the Slovenian women's doubles championship and the 16-under title in her career, as well as taking vice-champion honors for the 18-under division. In singles play, she was ranked top-5 in Slovenia in 16-under and 18-under, after claiming multiple open tournament titles in both divisions. She took national vice-champion honors as a 16-under competitor. Milič also won the Mouratoglou Academy 16-under title as a single and competed on the Ten Pro Global Junior Tour.
