BLOOMINGTON, Ind.
– Four medals, two relay records and five career bests that rank among the program's all-time top five highlighted the 2020 Big Ten Championships for Purdue men's swimming & diving.

Fifteen Boilermakers scored in at least one individual event. Greg Duncan medaled in both springboard diving events for the second year in a row, winning the Big Ten title on 3-meter. He was Purdue's top individual scorer with 59 points.

The Boilermakers have won at least one Big Ten title in six consecutive seasons dating back to Lyam Dias' victory in the 200 breaststroke in 2015. That's the longest streak in program history. The divers have won gold at Big Tens four years in a row and 14 times dating back to 2009.

Ben Bramley (silver in platform diving) and the 200 medley relay team (bronze) also claimed medals. Bramley medaled on the tower for the second year in a row. Meanwhile, Purdue won its first medal in a relay event since taking silver in the 200 freestyle relay at the 2009 Big Ten Championships.

Nikola Aćin and Trent Pellini both contributed to four of the five relays, helping the Boilermakers set program records in the 200 and 800 free relays. Aćin is now part of team records in all five relays, accomplishing the feat in just two years. Pellini has been part of four. They teamed with Michael Juengel and Ryan Hrosik to win bronze in the 200 medley relay. Ryan Lawrence (200), Nikola Bjelajac (800), Nick Sherman (800) and Hrosik (200) also contributed to relay records this year.

Pellini's 100 breast time (51.81) from the Purdue Invitational coupled with the team's times in the 200 free (1:17.61) and 200 medley relays (1:24.44) should qualify at least five swimmers for the NCAA Championships. Qualifiers are announced next week. Divers qualify via Zones (March 12-14).

Sophomores Brett Riley and Nick Sherman scored in all three of their individual events, accounting for 25 points each. Nick McDowell and Pellini both scored at Big Tens for the third year in a row. McDowell was also recognized as the program's Big Ten Sportsmanship honoree this season.

Duncan and Bramley teamed up to win a medal of each color in the diving well. Along with his Big Ten title on 3-meter, Duncan repeated as the bronze medalist on 1-meter. He's 4-for-4 as a medalist in his two years at the meet.

With Emily Bretscher also winning a Big Ten title on 3-meter at the women's meet the week before, Purdue swimming & diving produced a conference champion of each gender for the first time since 2009. Combined, the Purdue divers won seven medals (4 women, 3 men) at Big Tens this season. They had at least one medalist in all six events.

Lawrence won the B final of the 50 free from Lane 1. Five Boilermakers scored in the event, producing a team-high 66 points in the 50 free.
