INDEPENDENCE, Minn. –
Amid dreary and wet conditions Sunday, junior Joe Weiler and freshman Nick Dentino continue to pace the Purdue men's golf team, helping the Boilermakers to sit in a sixth-place tie after 36 holes at the Gopher Invitational held at Windsong Farm GC.

The Boilermakers recorded a two-round total of 3-over par 571 (290-281) on the par-71 layout. Purdue was sixth after round one's 290, before staying in the same position despite shaving nine strokes off its first-round score.

Baylor leads the elite field at 8-under par (560) and is followed by Texas A&M (-5; 563), West Virginia (-2; 566), Arkansas (-2; 566) and Marquette (Even; 568). The Boilermakers are tied with Oklahoma in sixth place, ahead of Utah (+6; 574), Kent State (+9; 577), Minnesota (+12; 580), Michigan State (+13; 581), North Carolina State (+21; 589) and Iowa (+24; 592).

Dentino and Weiler continue to lead the Boilermakers, now playing in their second tournament of the fall season. A week after finished tied for the second at the Island Resort Intercollegiate, the duo is tied for sixth after 36 holes in Minnesota, shooting identical rounds of 71-68 for a total of 3-under par 139.

For both Dentino and Weiler, it marks their fifth consecutive round of even-par or better, tying for the eighth-longest streak in school history. Dentino is the only freshman in Purdue history to have at least five straight rounds of even-par or better.

Jason Hong is tied for 36th at 4-over par 146 (75-71), while Cole Bradley is tied for 45th at 6-over par 148 (73-75) and Peyton Snoeberger is tied for 54th at 7-over par 149 (75-74).

Purdue will be paired with Arkansas and Marquette in round three, teeing off hole No. 1 at 9 a.m. ET, Monday.
