WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue softball team (29-17, 6-8 Big Ten) is set to host Notre Dame on Tuesday, for its final non-conference matchup of the 2019 regular season. First pitch is slated for 6 p.m. ET at Bittinger Stadium.

The Boilermakers are looking to get back into the win column following a pair of losses (7-5 / 9-4) on the backend of a weekend series against Nebraska. In the losses, Purdue was guided by four Boilermakers with with three hits and at least one run each, while senior Mallory Baker and freshman Rachel Becker guided the team with two runs apiece.
Overall, senior Jenny Behan continues to lead the Boilermakers at the plate with 11 home runs and a .363 hitting percentage. She is the first Boilermaker to reach 11 long balls since Ashley Burkhardt in 2015. The third baseman is currently tied for Purdue's fifth-most home runs in a season with Burkhardt, Candace Curtis (2008) and Heidi Foster (2003) and is only four dingers away from tying Katie Mitchell (2007) in first with 14 home runs.
In the circle, Sydney Bates and Kaitlyn Moody have seen the most action for Purdue. Bates leads the Boilermakers with 11 wins and Moody with 10. Each have tallied three saves on the season and will look to throw another great performance against a strong Irish offense.

The Fighting Irish come into the match up with a 29-17 overall record and a 6-8 showing in the ACC. Notre Dame most recently took two of three against NC State, to push UND into second-place of the conference standings.
Seniors Cait Brooks and Ali Wester lead the team in hitting, both batting just above .400. Brooks, with 16 home runs on the season, is coming off a career day in a doubleheader against NC State, going 5-for-6 with three home runs, two doubles, five RBIs and five runs scored.
Among other Big Ten match ups this season, the Irish are 1-2 with a win over Ohio State and losses to Minnesota and Northwestern.
