Full Schedule

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The 2019-20 Purdue Track & Field schedule was released today by head coach Norbert Elliott. In total, the Boilermakers will compete in eight indoor meets and six outdoor competitions, in addition to the Big Ten and NCAA championships.

"I am very excited about the schedule we have lined up," Elliott said. "We've put together a pretty loaded schedule, both indoors and outdoors. We've got a very strong and talented team, particularly on the men's side, and are looking to test ourselves in premiere meets throughout the year."

The campaign will kick off with back-to-back home indoor meets with the Fred Wilt Open (Dec. 7) and the Gene Edmonds Open (Jan. 10-11), hosted in Purdue's own Lambert Fieldhouse. In addition to free admission, the two competitions will serve as fans' only chances to catch the Boilermakers at home for the 2019-20 season.

The indoor schedule will be highlighted by the Boilermakers' second consecutive return to the Larry Wieczorek Invite, held at Iowa (Jan. 27-28).

The indoor lineup also includes meets on the campuses of three Southeastern Conference programs: the Rod McCravy meet (Kentucky, Jan. 24-25), the Razorback Invite (Arkansas, Jan. 31-Feb.1), as well as the Music City Challenge (Vanderbilt, Feb. 14-15).

"As a coach, I look to put our student-athletes in the best position to set NCAA qualifying marks and to peak for the Big Ten Championships," Elliott said. "Historically, those meets have produced some great NCAA qualifying marks."

The Boilermakers wrap up the indoor season with the Big Ten Indoor Championships, which will be held at the esteemed SPIRE Track & Field facility in Geneva, Ohio. The championships are set for Feb. 28-29, while the NCAA Championships are slated for March 13-14 in Albuquerque, N.M.

Purdue's outdoor slate will include Battle on the Bayou (at LSU, April 4) as well as back-to-back contests with the Michael Johnson meet (at Baylor, April 17-18) followed by the Drake Relays the next week (April 22-25). "The Drake Relays is such a rich tradition. It's a high-powered relay meet and we look forward once again to competing there," said Elliott.

In the final tune-up of the regular season, the Boilermakers travel south for the Kentucky Open (May 1-2) before the Big Ten Outdoor Championships May 15-17. The B1G event will be hosted by the Wisconsin Badgers in Madison, Wisconsin.

"Our men's team finished third last year, but we want to do better than that," Elliott said. "Ultimately, you want to win a championship and I think we have a strong team that's experienced and even better than last year. From a mental standpoint, the student-athletes are ready to perform, ready to compete and we're ready to test that with this schedule."

The NCAA postseason will begin May 28-20 with the NCAA East Regionals, hosted at Kentucky. For the second consecutive year, Texas will host the NCAA Championships in Austin from June 10-13.
