Boilermakers Tied for Ninth After Opening Round at Erin Hills

ERIN, Wis. –
 Andrew Farraye recorded an even-par 72 to lead Purdue to a 13-over par 301 as a team, good for T-9th after 18 holes at the Marquette Intercollegiate.
 
Held at the world-renowned Erin Hills Golf Course, UCLA leads after round one at 4-over par 292. All 12 teams in the field are within 11 shots of the lead, and nine teams are within seven shots of third place. Northwestern is second at 6-over par 294 while South Florida is third at 8-over par 296.
 
The Boilermakers started strong but ran into some issues in the middle part of the round to fall off the pace.
 
Farraye, a sophomore from St. Augustine, Florida, continues to play well, sitting in a fifth-place tie at even-par 72. He recorded three birdies, three bogeys and 12 pars on his round for his sixth round of even-par or better this year.
 
Cole Bradley is tied for 19th after a 2-over par 74. Bradley was 2-under par through two holes and was around even-par all round. He double-bogeyed the par-4 17th hole before recording a birdie on the 18th to move back to 2-over par and inside the top 20.
 
Joe Weiler is tied for 33rd at 4-over par 76, Nick Dentino is tied for 50th at 7-over par 79 and Jason Hong is 68th at 11-over par 83. Playing as an individual, Peyton Snoeberger is tied for 48th at 6-over par 78.
 
Round two begins at 10 a.m. ET, off hole No. 10, on Monday. Purdue will be paired with Indiana and UC Davis.
