Purdue closed the night with a double-overtime 0-0 draw at Northwestern

Evanston, Ill. – The Purdue women's soccer team (6-4-2, 2-2-1 B1G) remained locked through double-overtime with Northwestern (4-5-2, 2-1-1 B1G) at Martin Stadium on Thursday night. The game ended with a 0-0 draw, despite a controlling 11-5 shot advantage and holding the Wildcats to no shots on goal.

The Boilermakers were off to a strong start with five shots and two corner kicks within the first eight minutes of play. Through the entire first half, Purdue shut down the Northwestern offense, allowing no shots.

It was the second consecutive year Purdue and Northwestern could not find the back of the net in Evanston, after also ending in a 0-0 stalemate a year ago.      

Marisa Bova, Skylurr Patrick, Grace Walsh and, Julia Ware went the distance, meanwhile Sydney Duarte accumulated 102 minutes on the field.             

Purdue will return home for its final three games of the season at Folk Field. Kicking off the homestand Sunday versus Wisconsin at 1 p.m. ET.

Griffith sends a shot towards the Northwestern goal, but it goes high and out-of-play.

17th Minute
Griffith earned her third shot of the game on a low shot, but the Wildcat keeper dived to make the save.

53rd Minute
Northwestern made a fiery attack into the Purdue box. On the Wildcat cross in, Patrick gets a crucial header to deflect the momentum. Northwestern earned a corner kick, but prevented a shot from being taken.

62nd Minute
Northwestern received an indirect kick inside the Purdue box—just a foot back from the PK line—after Aly Mielke went down and the ball got caught up under her. NU takes the shot, but it goes high.

108th Minute
Rebimbas took the first and only shot by either team in overtime. Off a pass from Griffith on the Boilermakers' defensive half, the freshman fired a shot from outside the 18, but it goes wide left.
