WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – On Alumnae Day at Folk Field, the Purdue women's soccer team fell 2-1 to Penn State after a second-half goal put away the victory for the Nittany Lions. The Boilermakers (6-6-3, 2-4-2) will finish out the final three games of the regular season on the road.
Sophomore Mia Roth scored the lone Purdue goal in the 41st minute for the first of her collegiate career. Teagan Jones was awarded the assist after nutmegging the Penn State defender to gain position for a cross from the left side of the field. The assist was the second of the season for Jones, moving her to tie Sarah Griffith and Sydney Duarte for the second-most on the team.
While four Boilermakers recorded at least one shot, Griffith produced a team match-high of two shots, including one on goal. Marisa Bova secured five saves, with three coming in the first half.
