The Purdue women's golf team is in second place after 36 holes at their annual home tournament, shooting four-over par on the first day of the Lady Boilermaker Classic, hosted at Ackerman-Allen Golf Course on Saturday. Sophomore Inez Wanamarta led the Purdue squad at two-under par, 142, posting back-to-back rounds of 71, and is in second place in the individual standings.

Wanamarta logs her third and fourth rounds of the season at par or better, and recorded Purdue's top score in each round Saturday. Her first round included three birdies, and she added four more on the second loop, including the par 5's at No. 14 and No.15 as she finished two under over the last eight holes.

Freshman Danielle du Toit is in fourth place overall at one-over par, shooting 73 in the morning and finishing even par over the second 18 holes. She dropped nine birdies on the day to stay near the top of the field and count a team score in both rounds. Sophomore Lauren Guiao is fifth in the individual standings at three-over par, shooting an opening-round 75 and sinking 16 pars on her way to an even-par 72 in the second round.

Senior Ida Ayu Indira Melati Putri accounted for the fourth team score in round one, shooting two-over 74, while freshman RuQing Guan logged the final team score in the second round, making birdie on three of her last four holes to shoot even par. Putri is tied for sixth place at four-over par overall, while Guan is tied for 13th at eight-over par.

Indiana holds the team lead at four-under par, led by the outstanding individual effort of Mary Parsons, who leads the individual standings at eight-under par. Parsons shot a second-round 66, making an eagle on No. 10 and adding six more birdies in the round.

The third and final round will begin Sunday at 8 a.m. ET, as Purdue, Indiana and Xavier will tee off the first hole of Ackerman-Allen.
