WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -
The Purdue women's golf team enters the final stretch of the 2018-19 season this weekend, opening play Sunday at the Clemson Invitational, hosted by the Tigers at The Reserve at Lake Keowee. The Boilermakers have two events remaining before the 2019 Big Ten Championships, aiming to finish the regular season strong as they head into the postseason.
 
Purdue has been off the past few weeks, earning some well-deserved rest after a second-place showing at the Valspar Augusta Invitational. The Boilermakers shot even-par 864 at Forest Hills Golf Club, including a second-round, nine-under 279, tying the third-best team round in program history. Senior Ida Ayu Indira Melati Putri led the charge with a second-place individual finish, shooting five-under 211, while freshmen Danielle du Toit and RuQing Guan tied for fifth and 12th, respectively.
 
The Boilermakers have already accounted for four of the top-10 team rounds in program history in 2018-19, and have combined for 39 rounds of par or better on the year. Four players are averaging fewer than 74 strokes per round and have teamed to turn in 16 rounds in the 60's over eight events this season.
 
Clemson features another loaded field for the Boilermakers, including five top-20 squads and a trio of Big Ten opponents. The Boilermakers will open the tournament competing alongside No. 5 Vanderbilt and No. 21 Illinois, teeing off on the first hole at 8:39 a.m. ET.

Ida Ayu Indira Melati Putri, Senior: Coming off a career-best tournament showing, posting rounds of two-under 70 and four-under 68 at Augusta … leads Boilermakers with a career-best 73.25 stroke average and three top-10 tournament finishes … has 10 rounds of par of better on the season and leads Purdue with 74 birdies … her five rounds in the 60's this season is tied for fourth-best in program history, one shy of the single-season record shared by Maria Hernandez, Maude-Aimee Leblanc and Paula Reto.
Micaela Farah, Junior: Averaging 73.67 strokes per round on the season, good for second-best on the team … has the Boilermakers' best individual score in 9-of-24 rounds on the season, and has been the team's top finisher on two occasions … leads the team with 288 pars and ranks third with 55 birdies … has counted a team score in nine straight rounds entering Sunday.
Inez Wanamarta, Sophomore: Has two top-10 finishes in six outings this season and averages 73.78 strokes per round … has counted a team score in a team-best 91.7 percent (16.5-18) of her rounds in 2018-19, including 13 straight rounds entering Sunday … posted Purdue's best score in 6-of-18 rounds on the year.
Danielle du Toit, Freshman: Has played in all eight events for the Boilermakers this season, 1-of-3 players on the team to do so … averaging 73.79 strokes per round, currently third on the Boilermakers' freshman record list … her 11 scores of par or better is one shy of Purdue's freshman record … her three rounds in the 60's this season is one shy of the Boilermakers' rookie record.
RuQing Guan, Freshman: Fresh off a career-best showing at the Augusta Invitational, tying for 12th place at two-over par, 218 … shot a collegiate-best score or four-under 68 in the second round at Forest Hills Golf Course, sinking six birdies … playing in the team lineup for the third straight event after sitting out the first three events of the spring.  
 
THE COURSE
The Reserve at Lake Keowee is set to play par-72, 6,260 yards this weekend and has proven an outstanding course over the first three editions of the Clemson Invitational. Designed by Jack Nicklaus, the course is one of the most popular in South Carolina, playing host to the Tigers' event in each of the last three springs.

CLEMSON INVITATIONAL HISTORY
The Boilermakers made their first-ever appearance at the Clemson Invitational in 2018, taking seventh-place in a loaded field that featured seven of the top-30 teams in the country. Purdue shot five-over par, 869, led by Marta Martin, who finished at five-under 211 and played all three rounds at par or better for the tournament. Furman put together a dominant tournament performance, posting a score of 30-under par, 834, while Clemson's Alice Hewson took medalist honors at 10-under 206. Putri is the Boilermakers' top returner for the event, tying for 21st place at even-par 216.
