THE TALKING POINTS
1) Entering the final week of the season, Purdue knows what it needs to do to win its second outright Big Ten title in the last three seasons. With wins in the final two games, Purdue would become the first program since Ohio State in 2006 and 2007 with two outright titles in a three-year span.
2) Purdue now owns some impressive streaks, winning five games in a row, 13 of its last 14 games (loss at Maryland) and 16 of its last 18 games (losses at Maryland and Michigan State). Purdue started the season with a 6-5 record.
3) A win over Minnesota would give Purdue 16 Big Ten victories for just the second time in school history (1987-88 season). Purdue just became the fifth group in Big Ten history to win 15 league games in consecutive seasons and the first in 23 years since Purdue did it in 1995-96.
4) Over the last four games, Purdue has held foes to 56.3 points per game, 33.8 percent shooting and 24.0 percent from long range.
5) Purdue wrapped up its third unbeaten home season in 51 seasons of play at Mackey Arena with an 86-51 win over Ohio State on Saturday. Purdue enters next year with a 17-game home winning streak and owned the Big Ten's only unbeaten league campaign in 2018-19.
6) Purdue's seniors (Ryan Cline and Grady Eifert) now own a 105-31 (.772) career record, tied for the second-most wins for a class in school history. The .772 winning percentage is third-best percentage in school history (1996 - .778; 1988 - .774).
7) Over the last two games, Purdue has shot 55.6 percent (60-of-108) from the field, including 44.4 percent (15-of-36) from long distance.
8) Purdue has played in the lead for at least 23 minutes of gametime in 17 of its last 18 games (Michigan State on Jan. 8). It hasn't trailed in a game for more than 12 minutes in the last 14 games, dating to Michigan State on Jan. 8.
9) Carsen Edwards is on pace to become the third Boilermaker in the last nine years to lead the Big Ten in scoring. JaJuan Johnson in 2011 (20.7) and Caleb Swanigan in 2017 (18.9) are the others. No other team has had more than one player lead the league in scoring in that span.
10) Matt Haarms is on track to become the first player to lead the Big Ten in field goal percentage and blocks since Ohio State's Greg Oden in 2007.
