Banks, a walkon quarterback, earned Academic All-Big Ten laurels this season as an engineering major. He is the Purdue student body president, as well, and among his accomplishments in that role was working with a company called Just Water to bring its products to campus. Just Water has a sustainable water bottle that is recyclable.

The Boilermakers defeated Indiana 28-21 on Nov. 24 to retain the Old Oaken Bucket for the second straight season and add the 60th P link to the trophy.

Purdue is preparing to play Auburn in the Franklin American Mortgage Music City Bowl in Nashville on Dec. 28. Kickoff is set for 1:30 p.m. ET (12:30 p.m. local time), and the game will be televised by ESPN.

Purdue has accounted for 11,000 tickets - 3,000 more than the bowl's original allotment - assuring the Boilermakers of their largest bowl game crowd since 20,000 Purdue fans attended the 2004 Capital One Bowl in Orlando, Florida.
