Both genders are slated to compete in 19 events over the two days. Team scores will be compiled in dual meet fashion, with nine points awarded to the winner of an individual event and 11 points to a victorious relay team. Second through fifth place also score in individual events as do second- and third-place relays.

Of the 21 events contested annually at the NCAA Championships, only 1-meter diving, the 1,650 freestyle and 200 free relay are not being contested this weekend. The 1,000 free replaces the mile, as it does at most dual meets.

Diving's format will be a bit different both days. Saturday, rounds of men's 3-meter and women's 10-meter will alternate, beginning at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, all six rounds of the women's 3-meter event (10:05 a.m.) will be contested, followed by all six rounds of the men's platform (10:45 a.m.). There will be 12 divers in each event – six per conference.

Twenty-five universities are expected to have student-athletes in attendance at the ACC/Big Ten Challenge. Clemson, Syracuse, Wake Forest and Maryland are the only league schools that do not sponsor swimming & diving.

The 2019 ACC/Big Ten Challenge is scheduled to be held at Georgia Tech's McAuley Aquatic Center.
