LOOKING BACK
Purdue won its third straight game Thursday, pouring in 45 second-half points on its way to an 81-60 victory. McLaughlin and Farquhar combined for 34 points, a dozen rebounds, six assists and five steals to lead the way, while Harris turned in her second double-double in as many games with 10 points, 11 rebounds and a season-high four blocked shots. The Boilermakers held the Leathernecks to 29.9 percent shooting from the floor, including a 16 percent mark from distance, and forced 17 turnovers.
TRIGGERED
Farquhar and sophomore Lyndsey Whilby have been splitting time at head coach Sharon Versyp's newly minted "Trigger" position, and are providing the Boilermakers with a hefty stat line. Through three games they've combined for 15.3 points, 13.4 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game, and Whilby has connected on a scorching five-of-six from 3-point range to start the year.
DIALING FROM DEEP
McLaughlin cashed in four triples against the Leathernecks, marking her second game of the year and seventh of her career with at least four field goals from distance. She's currently third in the Big Ten in scoring at 17.7 points per game and her 10 3-pointers are most in the conference.
TAKING CHARITY
After starting the year with a subpar free throw shooting performance at Ball State, the Boilermakers are 33-of-37 at the stripe over the last two games and have pulled their season percentage back to 75 percent at the charity stripe. McLaughlin and freshman Kayana Traylor are leading the effort at a combined 17-of-17, while Oden has made 10-of-12 so far.
DOUBLE DOUBLE-DOUBLE
With her second straight double-double Thursday, Harris now has 11 for her career and is tied with Purdue legends Stephanie White and Shereka Wright for 11th on Purdue's career double-double record list. A third straight would draw her even with Christa LaCroix for 10th all-time, and would make her the first Boilermaker to record three straight since Whitney Bays in 2014.
