She stumbled to start the front, making double bogey on No. 1, but closed strong with birdies on No. 6 and No. 9 to log her second straight round of par or better.
Putri rebounded from a tough first day to make four birdies and record her 11th round of par or better on the season. Like Martin, she made bogey on No. 10 to start the day and recovered with birdies on No. 16 and No. 18. She made her third birdie in a five-hole stretch to drop to two under, and despite giving a stroke back on No. 7, finished with a birdie on No. 9.
Sophomore Micaela Farah and freshman Inez Wanamarta recovered from tough opening rounds to shoot matching totals of one-over par, 73, and notch the other two Boilermaker team scores. Wanamarta shot one under on the back nine, and after slipping on the front finished strong with birdies on two of the last three holes. Farah had two birdies on the round, one coming on each side.
Despite making 15 pars on the day, junior Covadonga SanJuan saw her streak of five straight rounds of par or better come to an end as she was unable to make a birdie Tuesday and finished four-over par, 76.
Top-seeded Duke took a big lead Tuesday with a team score of nine-under par, 279, and holds an eight shot lead on second-place Virginia. Oregon State's Nicole Schroeder owns the individual lead at 10-under par, shooting six-under 66 on Tuesday, and has a four stroke lead on Indiana's Erin Harper. Purdue is seven shots out of sixth place, which current is a three-way tie at one-over par.
