WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue women's basketball team opens its home schedule on Wednesday, hosting Miami (Ohio) in Mackey Arena for a 7 p.m. ET tip. It marks the first meeting between the Boilermakers and Redhawks since 1984, and the second of four games for the Boilermakers' against Mid-American Conference opponents this season.

- Purdue won its season opener Friday, earning a 79-69 come-from-behind win at Central Michigan
- The Boilermakers improve to 35-8 all-time in the first game of the year and 7-6 in season-openers on the road
- The win was the first-ever for the program at CMU
- Purdue set a program record with 36 points in the third quarter, breaking the previous mark of 31 set at Minnesota in 2016

HEAD COACH Sharon Versyp
- Versyp heads into her 18th season as a head coach and 12th on the Boilermaker sidelines, making her the longest tenured head coach in program history
- Her 238 wins at Purdue are the most in school history, and she enters 2017-18 just nine conference wins shy of matching Lin Dunn for the most Big Ten victories at Purdue
- Purdue has advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 9-of-11 seasons under Versyp, including each of the last two seasons, making the Boilermakers 1-of-23 programs in the country to accomplish the feat during the time frame
- The Boilermakers are 10-1 in home-openers under Versyp
- The last time Purdue and Miami (Ohio) met, Versyp was a freshman at Purdue, playing in the fourth game of her career, and the Boilermakers' earned a 79-54 win

OPPONENT NOTES
- Miami (Ohio) won their season opener this weekend, topping visiting Detroit Mercy 91-64
- The Redhawks scored 90 points in regulation for the first time since the 2013-14 season
- Sophomore Lauren Dickerson paced Miami with 26 points and eight assists, while classmate Savannah Kluesner added 20 points and 10 rebounds
- Dickerson attended Lawrence North High School with Purdue sophomores Ae'Rianna Harris and Lamina Cooper, where they made a pair of state semifinals (2015, 2016)
