HONOLULU, Hawaii -

Game One

Purdue (10-17) defeats Harvard (7-7) handily 8-3 in the third game of the Rainbow Wahine Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Boilermakers scored six runs in the third and fourth innings to take control of the game to finish off the Crimson of Harvard. Purdue has now won five games in a row, including three in Hawaii, which improves their record to 10-17 after starting the season 3-16.

Maddie Damon, much like Kaitlynn Moody yesterday, has found her rhythm here in Hawaii. Mallory Baker led the way for the Boilermakers going 4-4 in the game with two RBI's and two runs scored. Baker is now 6-12 (.500) so far on the weekend and has provided much needed consistency in the middle of the lineup for Purdue.

Kaylah Hampton stepped to the plate as the Boilermakers lead 1-0 in the third inning and extended the lead on a two-run RBI double down the left field line scoring Kristen Hoppman and Mallory Baker. Purdue would strike again in the fourth frame scoring four runs to break open the lead to 7-0. The Boilermakers 9-1-2 batters all reached to start the inning which set up a two-RBI single up the middle from Mallory Baker. Purdue cashed in on a sac-fly and a walk to add two more runs to finish off the fourth.

Harvard would try their best to make a comeback scoring three runs in the fifth inning off an error with the bases loaded from Kaitlynn Moody in right field but Maddie Damon proved to be too much for the Crimson lineup shutting them down in the final two frames to secure the win for the Boilermakers.

Game Two

Purdue (10-18) falls in a close contest to Hawaii (17-10) 2-1 as the Boilermakers struggle to put together hits in the second game of the day in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Hawaii managed to put together a two run second inning which proved to be enough as the Boilermakers tallied only four hits off of the Rainbow Warriors starting pitcher Aina Cabrales.

The bottom of the lineup for Hawaii was the difference for Hawaii in the second inning as seventh batter Heather Cameron doubled to right center which scored one run to take the lead and Jordan Hicks added the second run on an RBI single up the middle. Cameron finished 3-3 on the day with one run scored and one RBI.

Purdue battled to scrape a run across the board in the sixth inning when Maya Hughes reached first on an error from the second baseman, she then advanced to second on a passed ball and was brought home on a Mallory Baker single up the middle for the lone run of the game for Purdue. The Boilermakers could not put together enough hits in the sixth frame and their threat was neutralized as they stranded two runners on second and third.

Kaitlynn Moody (4-6) has been excellent as of late but the Rainbow Warriors were able to get nine hits off of the sophomore in the circle as she picked up her sixth loss of the year. Moody only gave up two runs but the Boilermakers offense could not provide enough support as Cabrales allowed only three hits while striking out two batters.

Purdue returns to action tomorrow for just one game another matchup against Harvard at 6 p.m. The Boilermakers defeated the Crimson 8-3 in the first game of the day as Maddie Damon earned her fifth win of the year.
