WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. -
The women's tennis team begins its 2017 campaign with a long home series, starting Saturday, Jan. 14, against both Butler (9 a.m. ET) and Toledo (3 p.m.). The Boilermakers will remain in West Lafayette, Indiana, for an additional three matches against Evansville, Xavier and Washington State.

Last year, the women won all four matches in their first homestand, something head coach Laura Glitz hopes to repeat this year.

"It's so import to start the season off strong, especially with wins at home," Glitz said. "Nothing is guaranteed, but our team should definitely have the advantage while playing in a familiar setting. I want these first five matches to help us settle into the rhythm of the season before traveling to Hanover."

Dartmouth is the team's lone road match in the first 11; the Boilermakers face the Big Green on Sunday, Jan. 29.

Purdue kicks off its second five-match home stay against Virginia Tech followed by Ole Miss, DePaul, Arkansas and Maryland - the team's first Big Ten opponent.

The Boilermakers then travel to Notre Dame on Wednesday, Feb. 22, and stay on the road until the end of March. In that time, the team faces Tulsa and returns to conference play against Nebraska.

On Saturday, March 25, Purdue begins its final grouping of home matches against Michigan State. The next day, the team faces No. 14 Michigan. The Boilermakers battled the Wolverines twice last year, losing 5-2 in Ann Arbor and 4-0 during the first round of the Big Ten Tournament. Matches against Indiana, Northwestern and then Illinois on Sunday, April 9, complete the team's home schedule.

The final four regular-season matches take place on the home courts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Penn State and No. 7 Ohio State. The Big Ten Tournament begins Thursday, April 27.
