FORT MYERS, Fla. - It was a big day for the Boilermaker pitching staff in a pair of wins over Iowa State and Florida Gulf Coast on Friday. Senior Lilly Fecho became the program's career strikeout leader and sophomore Gina Snyder threw her first career no-hitter.

Fecho struck out four batters in a 1-0 shutout win over Iowa State in Game 1, while Snyder issued seven K's in the no-hitter in the night cap.

Freshman Heather Knight led the Purdue bats with three hits, while seniors Paris Andrew and Mary Gooding, and freshmen Mallory Baker and Lexi Huffman added two apiece.

The Boilermakers wrap up non-conference tournament play with a 1 p.m. game against FGCU on Saturday.

Purdue 1, Iowa State 0
The Boilermakers scored a single run in the fifth inning to complement senior Lilly Fecho's shutout win, during which she also became Purdue's all-time career strikeouts leader. Fecho recorded four K's in the game, moving her career tally to 732, four ahead of Suzie Rzegocki (2008-2011). The Carol Stream, Illinois, native recorded the historic strikeout, catching Sally Woolpert looking for the second out of the second inning.

Purdue tallied its one run on four hits, one each by seniors Mary Gooding and CJ Parsons, junior Kristen Hoppman and freshman Lexi Huffman.

Iowa State put runners on in each of the first four innings, but the Boilermaker defense held. A two-out single in the first, two singles to lead off the second, a bunt single to start the third and a two-out single in the fourth accounted for the Cyclone base runners. Catcher Heather Knight threw one runner out trying to steal in the third.

Freshman Lauren Stewart walked and stole second in the second inning, but was left stranded by a pair of fly balls. Hoppman laid down a two-out bunt single in the third and swiped second, but a pop up kept the game scoreless.

The Boilermakers broke through with a run on two hits and an error in the fifth. Parsons hit a sharp single to the shortstop and went to second on a throwing error. Pinch runner Emily Kenny scored on a pinch hitter double off the center field wall by Huffman.

Gooding led off the sixth with a single to center field, but was caught stealing to end the inning.

The Cyclones went down in order for the third straight inning with a fly out, ground ball to the pitcher and caught foul to clinch the game.

Purdue 9, FGCU 0
Freshman Gina Snyder (1-1) held it down in the circle, allowing just two base runners via hit by pitch, one in the second and one in the fifth, and striking out seven in a complete-game no-hitter, the first of her Boilermaker career. It is the 19th no-hitter in program history and 17th by a single pitcher.

Freshman Heather Knight went 3-for-3 with two RBI, while senior Paris Andrew and freshman Mallory Baker added two hits each as Purdue poured on nine runs on 11 hits and an error. Starter Taylor Wade (3-6) went five and two thirds innings for the Eagles, while Courtney Noonan recorded the final out of the sixth.

The Boilermakers scored four unearned runs in the opening stanza. Junior Kristen Hoppman reached on a throwing error, stole second, went to third on a passed ball and scored on an RBI single by senior Katie Harrison, just three batters into the game. Freshman Mallory Baker followed with a single and scored alongside pinch runner Emily Kenny on a double to right center by senior Paris Andrew.

Baker started a third-inning rally with a two-out single to left and went to second on a wild pitch before scoring on a single to center by freshman Lauren Stewart. Stewart swiped second before coming home on a Knight single down the right field line.

Senior Mary Gooding singled up the middle to lead off the fifth, but was out in a double play to end the inning.

The Boilermakers tacked on three more runs on three hits in the sixth to set up the mercy-rule win. Knight and Andrew posted one-out singles, setting the table for freshman Lexi Huffman's three run shot to right field, which made it 9-0.

Snyder issued two strikeouts and junior Kristen Hoppman reeled in a foul ball past the right field line to cap the no-no and the win.
