Day Two Results / Round Three Tee Times

CORAL GABLES, Fla. - The Purdue women's golf team completed their second day of competition at the sixth-annual Hurricane Invitational on Tuesday, falling to a tie for 11th place after shooting nine-over, 293, and standing 19-over, 587, for the tournament. Senior Anna Appert Lund and junior August Kim had the top individual marks of the day, shooting matching scores of one-over, 70.

The Boilermakers played solid golf over their first nine holes of the morning, starting on the back-nine of The Biltmore Golf Course. Appert Lund opened with eight straight pars and closed the side with a birdie on No. 18, while freshman Covadonga SanJuan drained nine straight pars to start her day. Kim played the front-nine even, sinking both of her birdies for the round, while sophomores Linn Andersson and Marta Martin were both just two-over to start the day.

Flipping the script from yesterday's round, it was the front-nine that victimized the Boilermakers on Tuesday, accounting for 14 strokes over par, and six of the nine strokes over par for the team score. Andersson had the best round on the first nine holes, shooting even par, while Kim was only one-over.

Andersson finished two-over, 73, for the day and is the top Boilermaker in the individual standings, sitting tied for 20th at two-over, 142, for the tournament. Martin dropped into a tie for 35th place after shooting five-over, 76, Tuesday.

Northwestern is dominating the team standings, firing nine-under, 275, Tuesday to move to 16-under, 552, for the tournament, and holds a 15-shot lead on second-place Iowa State. Tournament host Miami was the only other team to finish under par Tuesday, shooting one-under, 283. Northwestern's Hannah Kim leads the individual standings at seven-under, 135, while three players are tied for second at four-under, 138.

The final round of play begins Wednesday morning at 8 a.m. ET, as the Boilermakers begin on the back-nine for the second straight day.
