RIO GRANDE, P.R. - The 19th-ranked Purdue women's golf team had another tough day Monday at the 15th-annual Lady Puerto Rico Classic, shooting 16-over, 304, to remain tied for 11th place with Big Ten rival Michigan. Boilermaker junior August Kim shot two-over, 74, for the second straight day to lead the team alongside senior Anna Appert Lund, who finished with a matching score.

Kim and Appert Lund put together matching rounds with the exact same stats, each sinking two birdies, two bogeys and one double-bogey. Kim moved into the top-20 individually as she's tied for 19th place at four-over, 148, for the tournament. Sophomores Linn Andersson and Marta Martin turned in the other two team scores for the Boilermakers at six-over, 78, as Martin made a pair of birdies in her round, while Andersson had one. Purdue rookie Covadonga Sanjuan had another decent day on the course in the individual standings, shooting five-over, 77, and is tied with Andersson and Appert Lund for 48th place at eight-over, 152.

Arkansas surged into the lead with a tournament record team round of seven-under, 281, moving to six-under, 570, after the second day of competition. The Razorbacks break their own Lady Puerto Rico Classic record of five-under, 283, set in the second round in 2014. Georgia dropped seven shots back of Arkansas to one-over, 577, shooting six-over Monday, while Texas Tech is a full 13 strokes behind the leaders after finishing 12-over. Arkansas' Maria Fassi led the charge with a five-under, 67, to move into a tie for the lead with Texas Tech's Gabby Barker, at five-under, 139. The pair holds a one-shot lead on Georgia's Bailey Tardy, and two shots on Arkansas' Alana Uriell.

Play concludes tomorrow as they bump the tee time to 7:30 a.m. with another shotgun start.
