WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Hadley Stuart scored twice and Alex Hairston registered a goal and an assist, leading Purdue women's soccer to a 4-0 shutout win against Indiana State on a rainy Wednesday night at the Varsity Soccer Complex.

The Boilermakers (3-5-1) put together their first four-goal effort since defeating St. Bonaventure, 4-1, Aug. 29 of last season.

Lauren Montenegro opened the scoring in the 18th minute, recording her first goal of the season and seventh career. Stuart scored in the 45th and 65th minutes, tallying the first two goals of her collegiate career. Hairston setup Stuart's second goal after giving Purdue a 3-0 lead with her team-leading third score of the season.

Mollie Kuramoto assisted on Stuart's first goal and Hairston's score. Stuart and Kuramoto accounted for the first multi-goal and multi-assist efforts by Purdue players since Marta Lynch and Liz Secue accomplished the feats, respectively, in August 2010 against Morehead State.

Hairston, meanwhile, joined Kellie Phillips and Rachael Kimack as active Boilers that have registered a goal and an assist in the same game.

Clara Kridler and Yana Lyon both saw action in goal in the Purdue's third shutout win of the season. Kridler made four saves before giving way to Lyon in the 70th minute.

Chinyelu Asher setup Montenegro's third career game-winning goal with a through ball into the heart of the 18-yard box. Montenegro's sliding one-touch shot found its way into the right side of the net. Asher also hit the left post with a shot in the 50th minute.

A left-to-right cross from Kuramoto setup Stuart's first goal in the final minute of the first half. Stuart collected at the top of the 18-yard box and fired a shot into the left side of the net.

A slot pass from Kuramoto to Hairston led to the freshman's goal in the 52nd minute. Hairston scored from the middle of the 18-yard box with a diagonal shot into the right side of the net.

Hairston returned the favor about 13 minutes later when she created Stuart's point blank goal to cap the scoring. Hairston dribbled along the end line on the right side of the goal and centered the ball to Stuart directly in front of the net for a one-touch tap in.

Twenty-five Purdue players saw action in the one-sided result. All 14 reserves logged double-figure minutes, led by Kimack's 54. Brookley Rogers was the lone Boiler to go the distance. Fellow center back Jessica Warren left the field for only the second time this season, leaving the field in the 82nd minute.

Purdue improved to 5-1-1 in games in which Montenegro has scored. It was her sixth career goal at the Varsity Soccer Complex.

The Boilermakers return to action Sunday when they host Michigan State at 1 p.m. for the Big Ten Conference opener for both teams.
