Top-ranked Purdue Women's Golf In Second

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The top-ranked Purdue women's golf team is tied for second after one round at the Mason Rudolph Women's Championship in Franklin, Tenn. The Boilermakers finished round one with a score of 279 (-9), tying a school record for low team round. Purdue is tied with California and is just one stroke behind first-place LSU (278, -10). The Boilermakers were led by senior Maude-Aimee LeBlanc's five-under par 67.

Wake Forest's Michelle Shin tied a course record with a career-low round of 65 and is in first place with a two-stroke lead.

LeBlanc's score of 67 ties her career low and puts her in a three-way tie for second with LSU's Tessa Teachman and Alabama's Brooke Pancake. LeBlanc recorded an eagle on the par-5 seventh hole and also had four birdies with just one bogey.

Senior Numa Gulyanamitta carded a four-under par 68 and is tied for fifth. Gulyanamitta recorded a team-high six birdies en route to her lowest round of the season.

Freshman Alexandra Stewart recorded a one-under par 71 and is tied for 25th. The Peoria, Ariz., native fired the first below-par round of her young collegiate career.

Laura Gonzalez-Escallon and Thea Hoffmeister each finished with a one-over par 73 and are tied for 42nd place.

The Mason Rudolph Championship is a three-day, 54-hole tournament at the Vanderbilt Legends Club North Course a a par-72, 6,281-yard venue. The Boilermakers will be paired with California and LSU in the second round and will tee off from hole No. 1 beginning at 10:30 a.m. ET.
