WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The ninth-ranked Purdue women's golf team slipped from third to sixth place after firing a 295 in the second round of the PING/ASU Invitational in Tempe, Ariz. The Boilermakers have a two-round total of 582 and are 17 strokes off the lead with one round to play.

The host team, No. 3 Arizona State continues to hold the lead after recording a 286 on Saturday to go with a 279 in the first round for a total of 565. Sixth-ranked Southern California is in second place with two-round total of 571.

Purdue's top-ranked individual, Maude-Aimee LeBlanc fired a 71 for the second consecutive day and is tied for 10th with a score of 142. Freshman Laura Gonzalez-Escallon is tied for 20th. She opened with a 71 and carded a 74 on Saturday for a two-round score of 582.

Juniors Numa Gulyanamitta and Thea Hoffmeister each recorded 75s on Saturday. Gulyanamitta is tied for 32nd at 147 and Hoffmeister is tied for 42nd with score of 149. Freshman Paula Reto carded a 78 in the second round and is tied for 51st with a total of 151.

Tulsa's Kristina Merkle is in first place with a seven-under par 137. Merkle opened with a 68 and shot a 69 on Saturday.

The Boilermakers will tee off in the final round on Sunday at the ASU Karsten Golf Course, a par-72, 6,230-yard venue beginning at 11:10 a.m. ET. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com and the final recap will be posted at purduesports.com.
