WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - No. 8 Purdue extended its unbeaten streak to 13 matches with a 2-1 overtime victory over Iowa Friday at the Varsity Soccer Complex. The game-winner was scored by senior forward Parrissa Eyorokon and improved Purdue's record to 12-1-2 (4-0-1 Big Ten), while the Hawkeyes dropped to 6-3-4 (2-2 Big Ten).

Eyorokon scored 51 seconds into overtime after redirecting a Jill Sarbaugh cross taken from the far side. Sarbaugh delivered her pass into the six-yard box, where it took a hop off the ground before hitting Eyorokon's leg and into the bottom right corner.

"That was a nice service from Jill," said head coach Rob Klatte. "She got the ball out wide then cut back in a one-vs.-one situation and sent an in-swinger into the six. P (Eyorokon) got in tight between two defenders and was able to redirect the ball. The team stepped up in the face of adversity and we received a great response."

Eyorokon's goal was her seventh of the season, tying her with sophomore Loredana Riverso for the team lead. Sarbaugh's assist gave her a three-point day for the second time this season.

Sarbaugh provided Purdue with its first lead of the match in the 14th minute. Her strike from eight yards back snuck inside the far post and past diving Iowa goalkeeper Kali Feiereisel, who was making her first start of 2007.

Jordyn Shaffer provided the assist on Sarbaugh's goal and was her first point of the year. Shaffer, standing two yards in front of the midfield stripe, lofted the ball up to Sarbaugh, who tracked it down at the top corner of the 18-yard box before making her move towards goal.

Sarbaugh's goal appeared to be the difference maker until a late second-half goal from Victoria Bachand in the 84th minute tied the match at 1-1. Banchand looped in her shot from approximately 25 yards away and over the head of Purdue goalkeeper Jenny Bradfisch.

Bradfisch made several big stops that kept the Hawkeyes off the scoreboard prior to their equalizer. The redshirt sophomore made a diving save in the 58th minute off a shot by Alexandria Seydel, and in the 60th minute, punched away a shot by Sarah Stephenson.

Bradfisch's top save of the day occurred in the 70th minute off a shot by Amanda Martin. Bradfisch came off the goal line to challenge Martin, standing all alone on the left side; the Purdue netminder dove to her right and blocked Martin's shot, sending the ball out of bounds.

Bradfisch finished the match with three saves. Her teammates were credited with two, including a heads-up save by Jordyn Shaffer off a shot by Stephanie Hylink.

"I was happy with the focus and intensity of the first half and the final seven to eight minutes, because we played with a sense of urgency - but there was about 30 minutes in the second half where we didn't play well at all and left Iowa in the game," said Klatte. "There was some bad decision making, and we need to play with more consistency."

Purdue had a few decent looks after the Bachand goal, but couldn't strike the back of the net. Jessica Okoroafo had a 20-yard shot saved by Feiereisel in the 89th minute. Eyorokon beat a defender to gain an open look, but her 30-yard launch sailed over the crossbar in the closing seconds.

The Boilermakers resume their weekend homestand Sunday at 1 p.m. against Minnesota.
