WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Boilermaker men's and women's track and field teams maintained possession of the Gene Edmonds Cup for the 11th-straight year with a 174-143 win over instate rival Indiana State on Saturday.

The Boilermakers won 12 event titles, including seven on the men's side, while posting two provisional qualifying marks. The Purdue women topped Indiana State 96-62, while the Sycamore men edged the Boilermakers 81-78.

Sophomore Leah Kincaid (Springfield, Ill.) posted the second provisional qualifying mark of the season for the Boilermaker women with a leap of 41-feet 6-inches (12.65m) in the triple jump. Kincaid won the event, while also finishing second in the long jump with a season-best leap of 19-feet 5 ½ (5.93m).

Junior Rickey Pinkney (Lake Worth, Fla.) sliced one-hundredth of a second off his provisional qualifying time in the 60-meter hurdles on Saturday. Pinkney improved his season best to 7.87 from a mark of 7.88, which came at the season opening Purdue Invitational meet. He also added a second-place finish in the 60-meter dash, clocking a time of 7.02.

The Purdue men finished 1-2-3 in the pole vault, led by sophomore Andrew Rademacher's personal best clearance of 16-feet 4 ¾ inches (5.00m). Rademacher (Hermitage, Pa.) was followed by junior John Porter (Cincinnati, Ohio) and freshman Ben Pax (Coldwater, Ohio), who cleared 15-feet 11 (4.85m) and 15-feet 5 (4.70m) respectively.

Senior David Rae (mile), juniors Terrell Thompson (600m) and Justin Stadt (3000m), sophomore Jh'Rhome Tuggle (400m) and freshman Stephen Bach (800m) also chalked up first-place finishes for Purdue.

Rae (Naperville, Ill.) won the mile with a time of 4:14.84. Thompson (Shaker Heights, Ohio) took the 600m title with a clocking of 1:22.55, while sophomore Brian Kaluf (St. John, Ind.) finished third. Stadt (Crown Point, Ind.) won the 3000m in 8:34.72, while sophomore Eric Hammond (Elyria, Ohio) placed third. Tuggle (Gary, Ind.) won the 400 with a season-best time of 49.53, while teammate Zach Logan (Trotwood, Ohio) placed third. Bach (Bloomingdale, Ill.) registered a time of 1:56.09 to win the 800m, while freshman Trenton Morton (Indianapolis, Ind.) posted a season-best time of 1:57.20 to finish third.

The Boilermakers posted top-three finishes in a variety of other events. Sophomore Tyler Miller (Goshen, Ind.) was the runner-up in the shot put (55-2 ¾), while freshman Nolan Petties, Jr.(Gary, Ind.) added a second-place finish in the long jump with a season-best leap of 22-9 ¾ (6.95m). The 4x400m relay team of Kaluf, Logan, Tuggle and Patrick Bush placed second in that event. Taking third for Purdue were the 4x400 relay team of Thompson, Bach, Suggs and Andrew Smith, freshman Ben Harpenau (weight throw) and junior Rayland Currie (60m, long jump and triple jump).

The Purdue women took the top four places in the pole vault, led by senior Jocelyn Lindsay (Waynesburg, Pa.) who posted a career-high tying clearance of 12-5 ½ (3.80m). Senior Megan Darraugh (Lake Bluff, Ill.), freshman Mallory Peck (Sioux Falls, S.D.) and freshman Brianna Neumann (Fort Wayne, Ind.) all cleared 11-feet 11 ¾ inches (3.65m) to follow Lindsay's effort.

The throwers also came through for the Purdue women taking first and third in both the shot put and the weight throw. Junior Astin Steward (Okemos, Mich.) won the weight throw with a toss of 61-feet 8 ¼ inches (18.80m) and finished third in the shot put with a personal best toss of 44-0 ¾ (13.43m) in the shot put. Sophomore Sheena James (Clinton, Iowa) won the shot put with a heave of 47-9 ¾ (14.57m) and placed third in the weight throw with a personal best toss of 52-2 (15.90m).

Senior Brooke Woodruff (Cape Girardo, Mo.) was the final event winner for the Boilermaker women, winning the 600-meter run in a time of 1:33.46.

Seniors LaShauna Harris (60m) and Amber Ferner (3000m), juniors Corrie Whisner (800m) and Laura Farley (mile), and the 4x400 meter relay team of Lauren Scott, Woodruff, Kincaid and Ina Jackson all recorded runner-up finishes for the Purdue women.

Seniors Laura Stier (Greensburg, Ind.) and Tiffany Colvin (Cleveland, Ohio) finished second and third in the high jump with identical marks of 5-feet 6 ½ (1.69m).

In addition to her efforts on the 4x400m relay team, Jackson (East Cleveland, Ohio) took third in the 400-meter run with a season-best mark of 57.42.

The Boilermakers return to action on Feb. 3 when they travel to South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Invitational.
