INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Shot put specialists Tiffany Britten and Nedzad Mulabegovic won in convincing fashion Friday night during the first day of competition at the Indy Relays. Britten won with her launch of 47 feet, 10 inches (14.58 meters), while Mulabegovic's top push was measured at 58-8 1/2 (17.89).
Britten beat the rest of the 10-woman field by over three feet, however, Mulabegovic topped his nearest competitor (Brandon Falconer, Indiana Invaders) by well over 10 feet.
On the track, Carrie Fett finished runner-up in the 10,000-meter run with a season-best time of 39:53.40; teammate Annie King placed fifth at 40:30.90. Anne Favolise of Wisconsin-Parkside took the title in 39:05.70.
