WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (AP) - Purdue extended its winning streak to 35 as the 20th-ranked Boilermakers beat Valparaiso 63-42 Tuesday night behind nine points each from Shinika Parks and Mary Jo Noon.

Purdue (3-0), the defending NCAA champion, has not lost in more than a year, since a 73-72 defeat at Stanford on Nov. 21. The Boilermakers tied Connecticut's winning streak from 1994-96 but trail the record 54-game streak set by Louisiana Tech from 1980-82.

Parks had eight rebounds and Noon seven for Purdue, which took a 7-0 lead as Camille Cooper made a pair of baskets in the first minute and then breezed.

The Crusaders (1-2) scored their first two points on free throws by Jill Campbell with 16:59 remaining in the first half. Purdue then scored six consecutive points on baskets by Michelle Duhart, Mackenzie Curless and Noon for a 13-2 lead.

Valparaiso did not get its first basket until the 12:13 mark when Campbell hit a jumper. The Boilermakers held Valparaiso to only two points in the final five minutes of the half and Purdue led 32-14 at halftime.

Purdue never was threatened in the final 20 minutes of the game. The Boilermakers extended their lead to 46-18 on Noon's two free throws with 12:45 remaining.

Campbell led Valparaiso with 14 points and Jeannette Gray added 10.

Katie Douglas, the Boilermakers' leading scorer in two games with a 27.5 average, finished with just four points. Purdue shot 40 percent (23-for-58) while Valparaiso shot 35 percent (18-for-51), including 29 percent in the first half (5-for-17).

The Boilermakers had a 46-29 advantage in rebounding and outscored Valparaiso 16-6 from the free-throw line.
