A Boilermaker since 2004, Cory Palm currently serves as the Director of Broadcast Services for Purdue Athletics. In this role, Cory oversees the livestreaming of more than 120 live events and programs each year while also serving as the primary content provider for broadcast entities around the state of Indiana and throughout the Midwest.
Cory joined Purdue Athletics in 2005 as a graduate assistant in the Communications Department, working primarily in video production and website content production. With the launch of the Big Ten Network in 2007, Cory’s role expanded to include serving as Purdue’s liaison to the network, a role he continues today.
In conjunction with the BTN’s Student U streaming program, Cory helped develop a partnership with the Film and Video Services Department of Purdue University, allowing 25-30 students per semester to work in live event production for class credit. He has also worked with dozens of broadcast students in that time, many of whom have gone on to jobs in the field.
Cory has also had the chance to work on several high-profile projects for Purdue Athletics including writing and producing the documentary “Transformative: The Caleb Swanigan Story” and writing, producing and directing the documentary “Perfect Warriors: The 1943 Purdue Football Team”, the latter of which has aired on the Big Ten Network more than a dozen times. Cory later evolved the "Perfect Warriors" project into a book, published in 2022. Over the last 15 years, Cory has also had the chance to serve as the play-by-play voice for soccer, volleyball, wrestling, baseball, softball tennis and women’s basketball.
Prior to coming to Purdue, he worked in television news in Lansing, Mich., and Stillwater, Okla. Cory has a B.A. in Journalism from Michigan State University and an M.A. in Public Relations and Sport Management from Purdue. He lives in Lafayette with his wife, Jaclyn, and their daughter Alyssa.
