WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Baseball’s leaders of the lineup and bullpen have been recognized among the best in the Midwest as Sam Flores and Jake Kramer earned All-Region honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Flores was recognized as the first-team third baseman and Kramer was honored as the second-team relief pitcher. The ABCA All-Region Teams are presented by Rawlings Sporting Goods.

The Boilermakers had multiple All-Region honorees for the fourth time in team history. The 1992, 2000 and 2012 seasons marked the previous years when Purdue had a hitter and pitcher recognized as All-Region in the same year.

Flores gave the Boilermakers an All-Region position player for the fifth time in the last six seasons dating back to 2021. During that stretch, Purdue has now had an All-Region honoree at all four infield positions – shortstop Evan Albrecht in 2022, second baseman Paul Toetz in 2023, first baseman Logan Sutter in 2025 and now Flores at third base. Flores joins Cameron Perkins (2012) as Boilers to named All-Region at third base.

Kramer is Purdue’s first pitcher to be named All-Region since Joe Haase was the Big Ten Pitcher of the Year in 2012. Kramer joined Andy Helmer (13 saves in 2000) as Purdue’s only relief pitchers to be named All-Region.

The ABCA’s Midwest Region features teams from Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan Minnesota and Kentucky. The Boilermakers were the only Big Ten team to have multiple players on the All-Midwest Region teams this year. Flores and Kramer joined Michigan second baseman Colby Turner (1st), Indiana outfielder/utility man Hogan Denny (2nd) and Minnesota catcher Weber Neels (2nd) on the All-Midwest Region teams.

Flores was a second-team All-Big Ten performer at third base, leading Purdue in hits, runs, doubles, home runs and RBI. He batted .456 with runners in scoring position – with the team’s top run producer being the leading reason why the Boilermakers batted .332 with RISP during their 37-win campaign. The lefthanded hitter was nearly equally dangerous against both right (.321) and lefthanded (.317) pitchers. He started all 54 games at third base.

Kramer earned four wins and 10 saves in his 29 appearances, becoming the sixth Boilermaker to record a double-figure save total. He took the mound in 17 of Purdue’s 30 Big Ten games, good for second most in league play in team history. Kramer was unscored upon in his 17 innings pitched at Alexander Field, closing out 13 of the Boilermakers’ 20 home wins. The senior posted a 0.97 WHIP in Big Ten play and a .145 batting average against at home after surrendering just eight hits at Alexander. He made multiple appearances in 11 different weekends.

Kramer is currently pitching for the West Virginia Black Bears in the MLB Draft League.
