WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. — Five Purdue student-athletes earned spots on the 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's and Women's At-Large Teams, which were announced Tuesday by College Sports Communicators.
The 2025-26 Academic All-District Men's and Women's At-Large teams, selected by CSC members, recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in competition and the classroom.
Golfers Samantha Brown and Lauren Timpf earned recognition on the women's at-large team, while wrestlers Joey Blaze, Ashton Jackson and James Rowley were honored on the men's side.
Blaze was also named a finalist for CSC Academic All-America honors for the second straight year, one of just eight Big Ten wrestlers to earn the distinction. Finalists advance to the national ballot, where CSC members will vote on the Academic All-America teams. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced July 7 (women) and July 8 (men).
A Second Team All-B1G honoree, Brown (communications major) led the Boilermakers throughout the season in several categories: stroke average (72.69), team-low rounds (17) Top 10 finishes (5), rounds of par-or-better (19), birdies (108) and rounds in the 60s (6). Her six rounds in the 60s tied for a single-season school record, and her 19 par-or-better rounds ranked third in program history. The sophomore played her best golf in the spring, racking up four Top 5 finishes over the final seven tournaments. Brown earned Big Ten Golfer of the Week honors after guiding Purdue to a victory at the 2025 Coach Mo Classic, tying for third with a 3-under 213 (75-66-72) for her best finish as a Boilermaker and her lowest 54-hole total. Her second round 66 (-6) was a personal best and matched the fifth-lowest round in program history.
Timpf (communications major) also had a sensational sophomore season, posting a 73.00 stroke average and leading the Boilermakers in five different tournaments. While pacing Purdue in pars (416), she ranked second on the team in Top 10 finishes (3), rounds of par-or-better (12), team-low round (13) and rounds in the 60 (3). Timpf earned a spot on the Big Ten All-Championships Team after placing fifth at the conference tournament (74-67-72—213), and her 3-under 67 in the second round was a career low. She produced the best individual finish of Purdue's season with a runner-up performance at the Boilermaker Spring Classic (71-70-73—214).
Blaze, a selling and sales management major, became a two-time All-American with a sixth-place finish at the NCAA Wrestling Championships in his first season competing at 165 pounds. After posting just the fourth undefeated regular season in recorded school history, going 18-0, Blaze enters his senior season as a legitimate national title contender.
Jackson, also a selling and sales management major, opened the season vying for the starting 125-pound spot in the lineup and eventually claimed it, starting seven of Purdue’s eight Big Ten duals. The redshirt sophomore won the 2026 Wabash Open title and later represented Purdue at the Big Ten Championships.
Rowley, a law and society major, bounced back from a season-ending injury a year ago to start every dual for the Boilermakers, one of just four wrestlers who did so last season. Purdue’s starting 184-pounder recorded eight dual wins and represented the Boilermakers in the Big Ten tournament as the No. 10 seed.
