WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue junior men’s golfer Sam Easterbrook garnered another honor this weekend, being named to the PING / Golf Coaches Association of America All-Midwest Region team, the organization announced today.
Easterbrook, from Tomworth, England, earned his All-Region accolades for the second straight year after earlier this month being named All-Big Ten for the second straight time. Easterbrook led the Boilermakers to the NCAA National Championships for the third straight year, currently occurring in San Diego this weekend.
Easterbrook leads the Boilermakers with a 70.71 stroke average this season, a mark that ranks second in Purdue history. He has posted four straight top-10 finishes and has seven for the season, good for the second most in Purdue history.
Two weeks ago, he finished ninth at the NCAA Corvallis Regional after finishing ninth at the Big Ten Championships in early May, becoming the third player in school history (Chris Mayson – 2002; Herman Sekne – 2024) to finish in the top nine at both events.
He also posted a runner-up finish at the Hoosier Collegiate, a third-place showing at the Purdue Fall Invitational and a ninth-place finish at the Puerto Rico Classic. He has five top-10 placings in six events this spring and has a team-best 70.28 stroke average during the spring season – a cumulative 19-under par in 18 rounds.
Easterbrook has 23 rounds of even-par or better, the second most in Purdue history, including even-par or better scores in 14 of 18 rounds this spring. He has posted 10 rounds in the 60s, including in four of his last six rounds.
For his career, Easterbrook has a 71.92 career stroke average with 16 top-10 finishes in 37 events. He has 56 rounds of even-par or better and is on pace to smash the school record for most even-par rounds of better in Purdue history (Austin Eoff – 65).
