Purdue Athletics Raises Record $16.1 Million on Purdue Day of Giving

The 2026 total of $16.1 million surpasses the previous high mark of $13 million set in 2024

WEST LAFAYETTE - Purdue Athletics delivered a record-setting performance on Purdue Day of Giving, raising more than $16.1 million through 2,569 gifts on April 29 to support Boilermaker student-athletes across all 18 sports programs.

This total marks the highest amount ever raised for Purdue Athletics on Purdue Day of Giving, surpassing the previous record of $13 million set in 2024, and underscores the continued strength and commitment of the Boilermaker community.

“Purdue Day of Giving is a powerful reminder of what’s possible when Boilermakers come together,” said Mike Bobinski, Executive Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics. “This record-setting level of support directly impacts our student-athletes and positions Purdue Athletics to continue competing at the highest level. I’m especially grateful to the John Purdue Club team for their leadership in making this day a success.”

Throughout the 24-hour giving period, alumni, fans, and supporters rallied behind Purdue Athletics, contributing to sport-specific challenges and helping generate $30,000 in bonus funds for sport programs while driving momentum across the entire department. Gifts made during the day provided critical support for scholarships, student-athlete development, and the resources needed to sustain success both in competition and in the classroom.

Support from the John Purdue Club continues to drive meaningful outcomes for Purdue student-athletes, including the addition of 56 new scholarships that expand access and opportunity across Boilermaker Athletics.

“We’re incredibly grateful for the support we receive from the John Purdue Club and our fans,” said L. Dick Buell Men’s Basketball Head Coach Matt Painter. “That kind of commitment is what allows us to develop our players, compete at a high level and sustain success for many years. It makes a real difference for our program.”

This year’s Purdue Day of Giving also highlighted the impact of the Purdue Athletics Competitive Excellence Fund, which supports the areas of greatest need across the department. Donors who contributed to the fund helped provide immediate flexibility to address priorities that directly enhance the student-athlete experience.

“Our success on Purdue Day of Giving is a direct reflection of the Boilermaker community and the commitment our supporters continue to make to Purdue Athletics,” said Nick Logan, Associate Athletics Director of Development. “Every gift represents an investment in our student-athletes and the opportunities we’re able to provide. We’re grateful for the trust our donors place in us and proud of what we’re building together.”

In addition to Athletics’ record-setting day, Purdue University saw strong participation across campus, generating over $95.4 million through 34,453 gifts during the university-wide Purdue Day of Giving. The collective effort reinforces the impact of philanthropy in advancing priorities across Purdue’s land-grant mission.

With two months remaining in the fiscal year, Purdue Athletics is on pace to achieve its second highest fundraising total in department history. The John Purdue Club remains focused on supporting student-athlete scholarships, enhancing development opportunities, and strengthening Purdue Athletics’ ability to compete and win at the highest level.

Looking ahead, the John Purdue Club will host John Purdue Club Day on Friday, June 6, at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex, celebrating the start of the 2026–27 membership year. This year’s event will also honor Gene Keady’s 90th birthday and feature a full day of engagement opportunities, including a golf scramble, a mixology class at Boilerhouse Prime, and the 19th Hole Par-Tee with live music, dinner, and exclusive updates from Purdue Athletics leadership. Active John Purdue Club members can contact their Boilermaker Athletics Representative for registration details.
