The Boilers began the scoring in the top of the third, plating three runs on Anna Moore’s three-run shot. Moore’s team-leading ninth long ball just puts her just two away from tying for fifth in Purdue’s single-season records.

Purdue struck again in the top of the fifth on Polar’s second-career in-the-park home run, a ball that hit off the wall in straightaway center, her 41st RBI of the year.

The Boilers sealed the door in the top of the seventh, plating four more insurance runs on the second freshman three-run shot of the day, this time by Bella Douglas.

On a double from Maura Condon, who went 3-for-4 on the afternoon, and an error from Miami, Purdue took an 8-0 lead heading into the final frame.

Perez closed out a dominant performance on the mound, pitching a season-high 7.0 innings and earning her seventh victory on the year, all while hurling just 63 pitches.
