WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Thousands of fans got their first look at the 2026 Purdue football team, as the Boilermakers competed in the annual Spring Showcase at Ross-Ade Stadium on Saturday afternoon (April 11). With the sun out and temperatures in the mid-60s, it was a perfect day for football.

After beginning the afternoon with some specific individual and group drills, the offense went up against a defense for a scrimmage that lasted about an hour. Following the conclusion of the showcase, head coach Barry Odom was pleased with the way his Boilermakers wrapped up spring practices.

“I like this group,” said Odom. “For 15 practices, plus another 20 walk-through days and meeting days, they have done absolutely everything we’ve asked. They’re hungry to do it the Purdue way, they’re hungry to bring winning back to the fans and the people that care about this program. We’re on a mission to get it done.”

Throughout the spring, it was evident that the Boilermakers were bigger and stronger compared to a season ago. Competing in a conference that has produced the last three national champions, Ryan Browne noted the difference as he enters his second season as Purdue’s starting quarterback.

“In the Big Ten, you’re going to win games in the trenches,” said Browne. “I think our o-line and d-line have both improved a ton, and I’m really excited to see how they’re going to do this fall.”

Linebacker Charles Correa agreed with Browne when talking about his teammates on the line.

“Their mentality is different,” said Correa. “It makes my job so much easier, I love playing behind those guys. From their tenacity to their physicality, their pursuit to the ball every play is special.”

Boilermakers from the past returned to campus as part of Purdue Football Alumni Weekend, tailgating before the showcase before walking through Tiller Tunnel to watch team warmups. Following the showcase, the alums had lunch in the Purdue Athletic Dining facility before meeting with Odom, offensive coordinator Josh Henson and defensive coordinator Kevin Kane.

The Boilermakers now look ahead to their summer workouts that will build strength, speed and endurance going into fall camp.
