This set the stage for Anna Moore, who delivered a triple to left center, sending Polar home.

The Boilers kept the pressure on in the second inning with Kylie Frank crossing home plate early after Khloe Banks reached on a shortstop error. Moriah Polar followed by crushing a three-run homer to left center, bringing in Banks and Ashlynn Campbell to stretch the lead to 6-0.

Northern Illinois chipped away with a run in the third, but Purdue’s defense held up through the middle innings. In the fifth, the Boilermakers struck again as Anna Moore doubled before a strong homerun hit from Haley Waggoner to widen the gap.

The Boilers closed out the game with an 8-1 victory, keeping the energy high before heading into back-to-back games tomorrow.
