Boilers Face Indiana State in Midweek Matchup

The Boilers are well into their 19-game homestand, and will take on Indiana State as a part of the first midweek of the season.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - The Boilers are well into their 19-game homestand, and will take on Indiana State as a part of the first midweek of the season at home on Wednesday.

After coming off a 5-0 weekend at the Boilermaker Classic, Purdue is on a 10-game win streak which they look to keep alive while facing in-state rival Indiana State.

Junior, Moriah Polar leads the Boilers with a .579 batting average which is good for second in the nation, and first in the Big Ten. The Pearland, Texas native also has 44 hits which cements her as the Big Ten leader and third in the nation.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Indiana State is 13-8 on the season, and 2-1 in conference after facing Bradley for the first Missouri Valley weekend. The Sycamores took recent victories over Green Bay and Western Illinois as well as ACC opponent, Boston College. 

The Sycamores were supposed to face Butler on Tuesday, but the game was cancelled due to weather.

SERIES HISTORY
Purdue and Indiana State have faced one another 28 times in their histories, with Purdue leading the series 22-6. The last matchup was in 2024 where Purdue took the 8-5 victory in West Lafayette. 

The first time the teams met was in 1994 where the Boilers lost 4-3 in Bloomington, Ind. Purdue’s most recent loss in the series was in 2023 where the Sycamores defeated them 6-2 at Bittinger Stadium.
