WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Track & Field’s Kamryn Harry earned Big Ten Men’s Freshman of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday.
Harry ran 21.36 in the 200m to win the open section of the event at the Windy City Classic. Combined with the invite section of the 200m, Harry ran the fourth fastest time out of 40 competitors.
The time ranks top 25 nationally by a freshman. The performance is the fifth fastest by a Boilermaker freshman and 16th fastest overall in the last 20 seasons.
The Sachse, Texas native joins Jax Coleman as Purdue’s two weekly award winners during the indoor season. Both Douglas Buckeridge and Nate Assa earned weekly honors during the cross country season.
Purdue concludes the regular season split between the Tiger Paw Invitational in Clemson, South Carolina and Indoor Music City Challenge in Nashville, Tennessee from Feb. 13-14.
