WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – For the penultimate dual meet of the season, Purdue Swimming & Diving makes its biennial January trip to Bloomington for the annual rivalry dual vs. Indiana.

Action at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center is set for 10 a.m. The teams are planning to utilize the default 16-event dual meet lineup, with the exception of the 200 freestyle relay in place of the 400 free relay to close the meet. And as is customary at the IU-Purdue dual, platform diving will be contested as a scored event (3-meter becomes an exhibition).

Indiana and Purdue finished top 25 at both NCAA Championship meets each of the last two seasons.

The Boilermakers are a combined 9-1 in dual meet action this week – 5-0 for the women and 4-1 the men. The Hoosiers are the highest ranked opponents on Purdue’s schedule this season, both earning top-10 status in the CSCAA poll. Indiana is a combined 11-2 in dual meets this season, with the men being unbeaten at 6-0 and the women checking in at 5-2. IU has previously competed head-to-head against Florida, USC, Texas A&M, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Michigan and the UCLA women.

Indiana and Purdue have already competed at the same meet twice this season – at the Ohio State Invitational (Nov. 18-21) and USA Diving Winter Nationals (Dec. 11-16).

Campbell Scofield (200 fly), Kate Mouser (500 free) and Daryn Wright (platform diving) are the active Boilermakers that won events at the Senior Day dual vs. Indiana last season at the Morgan J. Burke Aquatic Center. Wright was recognized as the Big Ten Diver of the Week and Scofield the Big Ten Freshman of the Week a few days later.

Wright won gold on 10-meter when the USA Diving Winter Nationals were held in Bloomington in December 2021 and 2024. Avery Worobel was also a silver medalist on 3-meter at the 2024 Winter Nationals.

As freshmen two years ago in Bloomington, divers Max Miller (1-meter) and Holden Higbie (platform) both moved up into 11th place on Purdue’s all-time leaderboards with their list scores – both marks holding up as season bests. Two years later, Miller is fifth in Purdue history on 1-meter and Higbie now ranks among the program’s all-time top 15 in all three diving events.

The Big Ten Network’s B1G+ website and app will have the live streaming coverage of both days. Fans that sign up for a monthly subscription this weekend will be covered through the end of the women’s Big Ten Championships the weekend of Feb. 18-21 in Minneapolis. Purdue is hosting the diving events at at next weekend’s Big Ten Triple Duals vs. Minnesota and Northwestern and Friday’s platform diving sessions is also set to be streamed on B1G+. The men’s Big Ten Championships (Feb. 25-28) is also featured on B1G+ in its entirety.
