WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind – Purdue men's tennis team (5-1) is set to take on Boise State (7-1) and Illinois State (4-8) in a pair of weekend home matches. The Boilermakers will face the Broncos on Friday at 5 p.m. ET before taking on the Redbirds on Sunday at 3 p.m. ET. Both matches include free admission for all fans in addition to a stress ball giveaway on Sunday.

- The Boilermakers aim to continue their strong home performance, entering the weekend undefeated at home this year (5-0).
- No.1 pair of Aleksa Krivokapic and Juan David Velasquez (W, 6-3) and No. 3's Henrik Villanger and Maj Premzl (W, 6-3) helped the Boilermakers take a 1-0 lead in doubles against Western Michigan. Purdue was won the doubles point in all 6 matches this season.
Maj Premzl
- The freshman continues his undefeated spring season after picking up a win in singles (6-1, 6-3) to move to 6-0. He improved his doubles win record to 4-0 on the season in a win with his partner Henrik Villanger to defeat Western Michigan Ashton Adesoro and Oscar Corwin (6-3).
Juan David Velasquez
- Velasquez picked up his fourth singles win last weekend and his first at the No. 2 position this season.
- He maintained his undefeated record at doubles (6-0), with a 6-3 win at No. 1 with partner Krivokapic. Velasquez is 10-2 in doubles play since the start of the fall season.
SCOUTING BOISE STATE
- The Broncos Jett Middleton is No. 115 in the latest International Tennis Association (ITA) rankings which were released on Feb. 5.
- After a season opening loss, Boise State have won seven straight contests with their most recent win against Indiana (4-3) on February 19.
- No. 2 Singles Carson Baker secured the win against Indiana after fighting through three tiebreaker sets, 7-6(3), 6-7(7), 7-6(6).
- Purdue will be looking for its first program win versus Boise State.
SCOUTING ILLINOIS STATE
- Purdue is 11-8 all time versus the Redbirds and this will be the first time meeting between the teams since 2010.
- Illinois State is 1-5 in their last six matches with their lone win against Western Michigan (5-2).
