Soccer Lands Six on CSC Academic All-District Team

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Six Boilermakers have been awarded College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honors as announced by the organization on Tuesday.

The honorees include senior, Angelina Thoreson, juniors Irene Campo, Megan Santa Cruz, Lauren Adam, and Emily Edwards, and sophomore, Emilia Deppe

The six honorees tie the program-record for most in Purdue Soccer history, with six players being named for the honor for the first time since 2023 (the maximum nominees per the CSC). Purdue soccer has now received a total of 30 Academic All-District awards, with 19 coming since 2018. The first 11 honors were earned between 2003 and 2013. 

These are the first-career honors for five of the nominees, and the second for Santa Cruz. 

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Soccer team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the pitch and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. First-team, second, and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced later in the month.

In order to qualify, student-athletes must have 3.50 cumulative GPA and be an important starter or reserve, meeting minimum playing time requirements. The maximum number of nominees per school is six. 

Thoreson, a senior from Uppsala, Sweden, earned her first-career CSC Academic All-District honor this season after a stellar year on the field and in the classroom. Thoreson started and played in all 19 games for the Boilers, with three goals, totaling six points. As a freshman at LSU, Thoreson was named to the SEC Honor Roll.

Campo, a junior from Santander, Spain, also earned her first-career honor after leading the Boilers on the field with eight goals and two assists, while shining in the classroom as a Kinesiology major. Campo was named to the All-Big Ten Second Team, after ending the season as the second-highest goal scorer during conference play in the Big Ten.

Santa Cruz earned her second-career CSC honor in her first season at Purdue. After starting and playing in all 19 games for the Boilers, Santa Cruz scored four goals, with two assists for ten points. In the classroom, the marketing major continued to put in the work.

Juniors Adam, and Edwards earned both their first-career CSC honors after starting and playing in 18 games for Purdue. Adam scored her first-career goal in the 2025 season, while also tallying three assists. Edwards was a wall in goal, earning two Big Ten Goalkeeper of the Week awards during the season. 

In her first season eligible for the honor, Deppe picked up her first-career CSC award after playing in all 19 games with a team-leading five assists on the season. As a general management major, the Lippstadt, Germany native continued to achieve in the classroom as well as on the field.
