WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Former Purdue All-American Robbie Hummel (Class of 2008) fueled a second-half rally to lead the Black team to a 91-79 win in the sixth Alumni Game held in front of 4,500 fans at Alumni Hall on Saturday afternoon.
Hummel scored 34 points, made eight 3-pointers and hauled down seven rebounds as the Black team rallied from a 50-47 halftime deficit.
Hummel’s 34 points are the most points scored in an Alumni Game.
The Gold team was led by 2011 consensus first-team All-American and Big Ten Player of the Year JaJuan Johnson with 28 points.
The Black team used a lethal perimeter attack in the second half to rally, making 10 second-half 3-pointers and 16 for the game. The Gold team made 12, 3-pointers as defense was mostly optional during the contest.
Nearly 70 alums were recognized in front of the enthusiastic crowd, in addition to the current members of the Boilermaker squad being introduced at halftime.
