After four games at the home of USA Softball against Big Ten opponents Wisconsin & Maryland, the Boilermakers head north to Lincoln, Neb. to face the No. 19 ranked Cornhuskers.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – After four games at the home of USA Softball against Big Ten opponents Wisconsin & Maryland, the Boilermakers head north to Lincoln, Neb. to face the No. 19 ranked Cornhuskers.
 
After a rough start to Big Ten play, beginning 0-3, the Boilermakers rebounded by going 2-2 in Oklahoma grabbing a win against both Wisconsin & Maryland. Purdue will have some momentum coming off a 2-0 shutout against Maryland, its first shutout in Big Ten play this season.

SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Nebraska has started the season with an impressive 23-8 record earning them rankings in every poll throughout the season thus far. Already only seven wins off last season's win total, the Cornhuskers continue to sit as one of the top teams in the Big Ten. Nebraska started off Big Ten play with a 4-1 record, with their only loss coming in a tightly contested 13-12 battle against Ohio State. The Cornhuskers are led by junior phenom Jordy Bahl, who leads the team at the plate and on the mound. With almost a .500 batting average and a 1.65 earned run average the Boilermakers will face a double-edged sword against Bahl.  
 
SERIES HISTORY
The Cornhuskers and the Boilermakers have faced one another 28 times in their histories, with Nebraska leading 18-10 in the record book. In the first meeting between the two teams, Purdue took the 4-2 victory back in 1996, just two years after the inaugural season of the Purdue program. In the latest meeting between the teams, Nebraska won 4-2 during the 2023 season, which is the last time the teams met for Big Ten play. Nebraska swept the series over Purdue in 2023. taking games 9-7, 4-1, and 4-2, respectively. The Boilers look to avenge the 2023 with the upcoming series in Lincoln.
