Purdue Takes Both Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week Honors

Purdue Indoor Track & Field's Cameron Miller and Zoe Sullivan took both the Men's and Women's Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week honors, the conference announced Wednesday.

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – Purdue Indoor Track & Field's Cameron Miller and Zoe Sullivan took both the Men's and Women's Big Ten Track Athlete of the Week honors, the conference announced Wednesday.

Miller gained national attention after he produced the sixth fastest time in NCAA history in the 300m with his 32.43 at the Blue Demon Holiday Invitational.

Already the program's 200m record holder, Miller now owns the top spot in the 300m after breaking Alvin McNair's record of 32.80 set in 1984. His performance also set a Big Ten record in the event breaking the previous time of 32.55 set by Ohio State's Tyler Johnson in 2022.

The weekly honor adds to Miller's opening week recognition, as he was named USTFCCCA Division I Men's National Athlete of the Week on Monday. It also marks Miller's second Big Ten indoor weekly honor with the Boilermakers.

Sullivan sits atop the national rankings in the 60m hurdles after she ran 8.12 to secure the victory at the Blue Demon Holiday Invitational. She improved her No. 2 ranking in the Purdue record books after she entered the season with an 8.24 personal best. She also ran a then-personal best 8.18 in the prelims.

She followed up her 60m hurdles performance with an NCAA No. 8 time in the 200m (24.13) to set a meet record. It broke her previous personal best of 24.44.

Sullivan was the only athlete at the Blue Demon Holiday Invitational to win multiple events.

After a strong start to the season, Purdue will resume action after the holiday break with a two-day meet at the Rod McCravy Memorial Invite hosted by Kentucky Jan. 10-11.
