WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Purdue men's golf team continues its busy fall season with its third tournament in as many weeks, traveling to Northern Indiana for the Fighting Irish Classic on Sunday and Monday.
With one win under their belt already this fall, the Boilermakers are looking to bounce back from a subpar performance last weekend at the Windon Memorial Classic.
Action begins Sunday morning with 36 holes and will conclude Monday with an additional 18 holes.
The Fighting Irish Classic field features eight teams that finished last year in the nation's top 50, including new Big Ten members Washington and UCLA. Seven Big Ten teams will be in the field, the most league competition Purdue has faced so far this season.

PURDUE LINEUP
PREVIOUSLY AT THE FIGHTING IRISH CLASSIC
This marks Purdue's second appearance in the Fighting Irish Classic played at the Warren Golf Course. The Boilermakers finished 8th out of 14 teams a year ago, shooting 18-over par 858, finishing just behind Rutgers and Kent State. Sam Easterbrook finished T-43, while Nels Surtani was T-57.
THE COURSE
One of Indiana's top courses, Warren Golf Course is a links-style course nestled on 250 wooded acres. Rated as one of the top collegiate golf courses in America, the course hosted the 2019 U.S. Senior Open as well as Big East Conference championships in 2001 to 2005 and NCAA Regionals in 2005 and 2010. This week's tournament will play 7,023 yards and par-70.

TEAM NOTES
- Purdue's win in the season-opening event was its first season-opening win since the 2010-11 season when it won the Turning Stone Invitational in New York.
- Purdue is looking for its second fall win for the second straight season. Since the 1980-81 season, Purdue has won two events in the fall season just five previous times (1980, 1993, 1994, 2015, 2023).
- Purdue is averaging 864.25 strokes per tournament through its first two events this fall. The Boilermakers haven't shot higher than 299 this season, but have managed just four under-par rounds in 12 team rounds.
- Boilermaker individuals on the counting teams have posted six top-20 finishes this season, but are looking for their first top-three finish this season.

- Kentaro Nanayama – Junior; Jakarta, Indonesia
- Finished T-9th at the season-opening Island Resort Intercollegiate.
- Missed the Inverness Intercollegiate to play a pro event in Indonesia.
- Struggled in round one last week, but played final two rounds in even-par at Kampen.
- Won a pair of tournaments last summer, including the Bali International Amateur.
