WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Purdue faces its first road test of the season with a trip to Eugene for a date with Oregon and Portland on Jan. 19 and 20.

For the second consecutive season the Boilers opened up the spring with a home loss to Dayton. Purdue dropped a 3-4 decision to the Flyers in which Mujtaba Ali-Khan, Marino Jakic, and Stefan Simeunovic each recorded straight set wins to give Purdue its three points in the dual.

Newcomers Aleksa Krivokapic and Juan David Velasquez faced ranked opponents to start their season. Krivokapic was bested by No. 81 Connor Bruce while Velasquez dropped a decision to No. 113 Luis Saraiva.

SCOUTING OREGON
Friday's matchup is just the second meeting between the two programs before Oregon becomes a common opponent when it officially joins the Big Ten in the fall. The Boilermakers own the lone win against the Ducks after 5-2 neutral site win in March of 2003.

Oregon brings one ranked singles player to the match as Quinn Vandecasteele was dubbed No. 66 in the Nov. 15 ITA Preseason Rankings.

The Ducks open their season with a doubleheader against Washington State Friday morning before facing the Boilers later that day. On last year's opening day, Oregon went 2-0 defeating Utah State and UC Riverside and outscored the two teams 13-1.

SCOUTING PORTLAND
Saturday's matchup will be the first-ever meeting between the schools and will serve as the Portland's season opener.

The Pilots were picked to finish fifth in West Coast Conference Preseason Poll after losing three seniors including Sema Pankin, the 2023 WCC Player of the Year. However, the Boilermakers will face a familiar opponent as Portland landed former Indiana Hoosier, Luka Vukovic in the transfer portal. The Pilots were 12-10 in 2023 and had a 2-3 record on a neutral court.

The Boilermakers are 3-9 all-time against teams from the WCC with the most recent win coming against Santa Clara in March of 2013. The other two wins came over San Diego in 1986 and Pacific in 1996.
