EUGENE, Ore. -- Chiara Singarella bended in a corner kick thanks to traffic in front of the net from Emilia Deppe and company, and the early 10th-minute goal was the difference in Purdue Soccer's 1-0 victory at Oregon on Sunday.

The Boilermakers (6-5-1, 2-3-0 Big Ten) posted their fifth shutout of the season while becoming the first team to keep Oregon (5-7, 1-4 Big Ten) off the board at home this year. The Ducks entered the day having scored in 10 of their 11 games overall.

Purdue created a pair of corner kicks in the ninth minute and the second of the two led to Singarella's team-leading fourth goal of the season. She served the ball in from the right flag, playing it to the near post. Abigail Roy and Zoe Cuneio joined Deppe along the goal line, creating a three-player picket fence screen in front of OU goalkeeper Maddy Goldberg.

Emily Edwards made three saves and organized a Purdue defense that surrendered just four shots and one corner kick in the second half. Edwards has been in goal for all five of the Boilermakers' shutouts this season, three coming on the road.

Purdue hit both goal posts in the final 10 minutes of the game. Singarella blasted the left post with a bending shot from 25 yards out in the center of the field in the 81st minute. About seven minutes later, Gracie Dunaway pounced on a loose ball after a Goldberg punt and dribbled to the top of the 18 from the left flank, beating the 'keeper but hitting the right post in the process.

Roy also forced Goldberg to make a diving save in the 80th minute.

Edwards' best save was in the 71st minute when she came off her line to cut down the angle for Ariane Haysman Boaler as the reserve made a nice run to put herself in position for a one-touch and shoot opportunity. Edwards has made 31 saves while conceding just six goals over the last six games -- all against power-conference opponents.

Lauren Adam, Sydney Boudreau, Cloey Uddenberg, Cuneio, Deppe, Roy and Singarella all went the distance among the Purdue field players. Lauren Omholt logged 46 minutes to lead the reserves, starting the second half.

The Boilermakers remained perfect in the state of Oregon all-time, improving to 4-0. It was their second win in Eugene and the program also posted victories at Oregon State and Portland State in September 2001.

Purdue ended its scoreless streak at 283 consecutive minutes dating back to its second goal in the victory at Northwestern in the Big Ten opener.

The Boilermakers are back in action Sunday, Oct. 6 when they host Illinois at 1 p.m. ET.
